Holi, the vibrant festival of colors, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy across the world.
This year's Holi was a perfect occasion for us to bring together our whānau (family) and tamariki (children) in a celebration of new beginnings and diversity. This beautiful festival of colours, transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. It is celebrated by people of various backgrounds, making it a perfect opportunity to embrace and celebrate diversity within our own learning community
Our Colour Run event was full of laughter and fun and we had such a lovely turnout from whānau. This year our goal is to increase our whānau (family) participation within our cultural celebrations. By including whānau and tamariki in the festivities, we not only create lasting memories but also instil values of diversity, empathy, forgiveness, and renewal.
Celebrating cultural events within our localised curriculum not only enriches tamariki' learning experiences but also plays a crucial role in promoting language development, cultural understanding, and a strong sense of identity. By embracing and valuing diverse cultural traditions, we can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our tamariki and whānau .
