Exploring our Community at BestStart North Harbour

At BestStart North Harbour, we believe that children learn with new experiences and increase their understanding of the world around them. Excursions are one of the best learning experiences we can offer our tamariki. We are very fortunate to take some of our toddlers on an excursion to Westfield Albany Mall's indoor playground. We have very easy access to the playground as we are part of the mall. It was a fantastic day walking from the centre to the shops at the mall on our way to the playground. Our tamariki were able to see different things around them.

They greeted people that they saw and waved hello. They were proud to wear their BestStart vests. This experience supports them to become more confident in social situations as they meet other people. In the playground, our toddlers enjoyed the new set of resources. The older ones were challenging themselves by climbing on the ladder and going down the bigger slides. They went on the wobbly boat and climbed on the dolphin seesaw. On our way back to the centre, we saw buses and they were fascinated. We stopped for a while to see the buses come and go. It was a fun experience for us to explore our community.
