Today was a day full of fun, creativity, and exploration outside as we dove into the world of shapes!
The children had a blast drawing and hopping around all sorts of shapes—circle bubbles, triangle cheese, moons, and square huts. Of course, the best part was that everyone had the freedom to create their own unique shapes too, letting their imaginations run wild!
It was wonderful to see how the children moved from one shape to another, hopping on the bubbles as they transitioned from yellow to green, then blue, and red. Each jump was more than just a playful activity—it was a way to connect the shapes they were drawing to the real world around them.
As they explored and played, they began to recognise how shapes appear in the things they encounter every day, from the roundness of bubbles to the sharp edges of a triangle. The outdoor environment proved to be the perfect space for this kind of creative expression, allowing the children to experiment and visualise shapes in new, dynamic ways.
Their enthusiasm for learning and creating was contagious, and it was clear that their imaginations were bursting with new ideas. Each moment was an opportunity to foster both creativity and early learning, as they made connections between shapes, colours, and the world around them. It’s truly amazing to witness the way young minds work, and today’s outdoor drawing activity was a great reminder of how valuable open-ended play is for encouraging growth and discovery.
Great job to everyone for jumping into this creative adventure with such energy and excitement! Keep exploring, creating, and imagining—there's no limit to where your shapes can take you!
