Learning Experiences at Best Start Manuroa
What a great start to the year!! At BestStart Manuroa, tamariki enjoyed a variety of learning experiences and opportunities during the holiday program. Kaiako had been providing educative ways and planned programs as per children's interests to boost the beginning of the year. Tamariki explored different activities every day including science experiments, water play, Olympic games, a healthy lunch box, etc.
They explored how a volcano works, in this hands-on experience, children learn about how ingredients are combined to create chemical reactions and are introduced to the features of volcanic rocks. They participated in Olympic games like sack bag race, spoon race, and hula hoop. Through the Olympics, they gained spatial awareness, coordination, and positional awareness, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and fair play.
At BestStart Manuroa, we promote a healthy heart which leads to a healthy lunch box where tamariki explore ideas of what to pack, and knowledge of what is suitable, safe, and healthy for our body and mind. Tamariki are empowered with different ideas, thoughts, and experiences that guide them toward engagement in content and help them learn new skills.
These activities also foster self-esteem and confidence as children learn to express themselves and their ideas.
