BestStart tamariki enjoyed two weeks of themed holiday fun, from planting seeds and riding bikes to disco playdates and superhero adventures. Each day encouraged learning, creativity, friendship, and active engagement in a safe and exciting environment.
Under the theme of our School Holiday Plan Programme for two weeks, we continued with our regular class routines while adding special themed days for extra fun and learning.
We started with Nature Day, where we planted seeds, talked about nature, and learnt about caring for our environment as part of our local curriculum.
Next was Bike Day. Children brought their bikes or scooters along with helmets, and we set up a safe bike course for everyone to enjoy.
Pyjamas Day followed, where children came in cozy pyjamas. On Animal Day, children dressed as their favourite animals or wore animal prints, enjoying movement and animal-themed play.
Friday was reserved for the Disco Playdate, where tamariki invited friends of the same age to enjoy music games and a fun party atmosphere. Some parents also joined in, making it a great opportunity for little ones to connect and make new friends.
For the second week, we organised a Sports Day, with obstacle courses and fun movement activities. Tamariki practised balancing on beams, football skills, frog races, catch and throw games, and walking on beams with a water bottle or football.
We also had a Teddy Bear Picnic Day, where children brought their favourite teddy or soft toy and enjoyed a special picnic with songs, stories, and games.
The programme concluded with an epic finale. Capes, crowns, masks, and gowns filled the room as tamariki transformed into superheroes and princesses. Dramatic poses and imaginative play made it a truly memorable ending.
This holiday programme was a wonderful balance of learning and enjoyment. Each themed day provided opportunities for tamariki to develop new skills, explore their interests, and strengthen connections with their peers and community.
