Exploring Pasifika Cultures
At Beststart Marne Road Kindy we have been exploring the Pasifika culture through storytelling and art. The children were interested in designing their own Fale after the research and stories we had shared on the Fale. The children chose to use clay and natural resources, using some real Fales to support their designs.
The children were lucky enough to have this learning extended with support from our families who brought in a selection of flowers for the children to thread and design their Lei to wear. The children were so proud to wear their Lei and share their learning with their families. Preschool is a crucial stage of a child's development, where they eagerly absorb information and engage in hands-on experiences. One captivating and enriching area for our children is the exploration of all of our different cultures.
Through this learning, we have embarked on an exciting journey as we delve into the vibrant Pasifika culture and how it can captivate young minds. By immersing our children in the vibrant and diverse Pasifika culture, we have ignited their curiosity and fostered their cultural appreciation through storytelling, arts, and crafts.
