Today our curious Rimu pēpi gathered for a special group water play experience with Kaiako Dianne. As the little paper boats were gently placed into the water, tamariki watched closely with wide eyes and sweet smiles. Tiny hands reached forward—some gently touching the boats, while others paused to observe carefully.
We saw beautiful expressions of surprise, curiosity, and delight as tamariki discovered that the boats could float. Some pēpi carefully placed their own boats into the water, watching closely as they moved and floated.
Dianne intentionally supported tamariki using warm smiles, gentle words, and calm encouragement. This helped tamariki feel safe and confident to explore at their own pace. Tamariki showed growing confidence, curiosity, and trust as they participated alongside their friends.
This group experience supported tamariki to develop early exploration skills, communication, and a sense of belonging within our Rimu whānau.
