Kia ora,

Over the past two weeks, our centre enjoyed a special School Holiday Programme, offering tamariki a fun, relaxed, and engaging holiday experience. Throughout the programme, tamariki took part in a variety of themed days where they learned through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions, supporting their holistic development.

Disco Day encouraged self-expression through music and movement, while Summer Art and Craft supported creativity and the development of fine motor skills. Summer Sensory Day provided rich, hands-on messy play experiences that supported sensory exploration and emotional regulation. Superhero Dress-Up Day inspired imaginative play, confidence, and positive social interactions.

One of the highlights of the programme was Science Day. We were very fortunate to welcome a parent who is a primary school science teacher into our centre. Tamariki were introduced to The Very Hungry Caterpillar using engaging props and visual cards. They were quickly captivated, listening with interest and showing a high level of engagement throughout the experience.

It was wonderful to see tamariki actively taking part, staying focused, and confidently sharing their ideas. Our teachers supported children’s learning by observing their interests, extending their thinking, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

We truly enjoyed seeing the joy, curiosity, and engagement displayed throughout the holiday programme and thank our whānau for their ongoing support.

Ngā mihi nui,
Flat Bush Team
